Glacier Hills Elementary School of Arts & Science is proud to be an award winning, nationally certified magnet school through Magnet Schools of America. We offer a curriculum that focuses on the arts and science while fostering creativity, curiosity and innovation.

Three District 196 elementary magnet schools have been selected for recognition in Magnet Schools of America’s 2024 Merit Awards program. Diamond Path Elementary School of International Studies and Echo Park Elementary School of Leadership, Engineering and Technology are being recognized as Schools of Distinction, and Glacier Hills Elementary School of Arts and Science is one of a select group of schools in the nation to be named a Top School of Excellence.

The District 196 School Board on Jan. 8 approved a resolution to accept the resignation of Board Director Bianca Virnig and declare a board vacancy, and a separate action to approve the process the board will use to fill the vacancy. Virnig won a special election Dec. 5 to fill the open seat in House District 52B. She will resign from the School Board Jan. 11.
